A good Tet transfer booking should leave you knowing three things: what the journey costs, what you pay now and what remains to be paid. Whether the arrangement uses cash or a deposit, those details belong in your confirmation.

Tet is a time when people are making their own journeys home. Drivers and local businesses also have family plans, so agreeing the booking clearly helps everyone prepare. You can then spend your attention on a market walk, a shared meal or the scenery between cities.

Start with the whole price

Before choosing a payment method, check the total quote for your travel date, route and vehicle. It should reflect the stops you have agreed and explain any holiday charge that applies. A low initial payment does not tell you whether waiting, extra stops or a guide are included.

For a Hue to Hoi An private transfer, make sure the quoted route matches the journey you want. A direct trip and a day with sightseeing stops are different arrangements. The payment method cannot settle that difference for you.

When cash to the driver is offered

Cash payment may suit a straightforward transfer when it is offered for your booking. Confirm the currency, amount and payment timing in advance. If the agreed balance is in Vietnamese dong, prepare that amount rather than relying on an informal exchange-rate calculation at the end of the trip.

Keep a record of the confirmation and ask how payment will be acknowledged. Carry suitable notes if possible; a driver may not have change for a large amount. Cash payment also does not mean a journey is confirmed simply because you have sent an inquiry. Wait for a clear booking confirmation.

Understand a deposit before paying

A deposit reserves part of the agreed service cost in advance. Check the amount, payment channel, due date and remaining balance. Also read what happens if you change your dates, alter the route or cancel.

If your confirmation offers a 25% deposit, a hypothetical total of 2,000,000 VND would mean paying 500,000 VND now and 1,500,000 VND later. This is an arithmetic example, not a route price or a promise that every booking uses the same deposit. The terms issued for your reservation are the terms to follow.

Long journeys, port pickups and special arrangements can involve planning beyond a local hotel transfer. Ask what payment arrangement applies rather than assuming that a previous booking’s terms carry over.

Keep activities and transport clear

A Tet workshop or hosted meal may have its own provider and payment terms. Paying for the car does not automatically reserve a craftsperson, a table or a cultural guide. Ask which items are included in the transport quote and which you are arranging separately.

Our Tet in Hue guide offers ideas for paper-flower visits and seasonal outings. Decide which experience matters, then confirm both the host and the transport. That is more useful than paying quickly for a route that has not been agreed.

Check the final confirmation

Read the passenger name, local travel date, pickup time, hotel addresses, vehicle, stops and payment summary together. Keep the booking reference accessible, especially if you are moving between hotels or using another phone during the trip.

If something differs from the conversation, ask for a corrected confirmation before treating it as settled. Never include card details or payment passwords in an ordinary message.
