Use this Hue city tour map guide to arrange the sights into a practical day. The Imperial City, Thien Mu Pagoda and royal tombs are separate places, with driving between them and walking inside each complex. Start with the places you most want to see, then check the route from your own hotel.

The map links below open Google Maps so you can see the roads and current estimates. They are planning aids, not a fixed timetable or a promise that every stop fits your day.

The classic Hura private-car route is hotel → Thien Mu → Imperial City → lunch → Khai Dinh → Tu Duc → Thuy Xuan → hotel. It uses two tombs rather than adding all three major mausoleums to an already full city visit.

Replace the start or end with your hotel where needed. Some mobile Maps views limit intermediate stops; the separate morning and afternoon links keep the route easier to use. Check that each place pin matches the attraction before starting navigation.

Check distance and driving time for your own starting point

“Hue city centre” is not a single pickup point. A hotel south of the river, a property inside the Citadel and a resort outside town produce different distances. Bridges, traffic, roadworks and the chosen entrance also affect the result.

LegWhat to check
Hotel to first attractionUse your actual address and agree the pickup point
Thien Mu to Imperial CitySelect the visitor entrance, not just the centre of the site
Imperial City to the tombsAllow for a lunch break separately from driving
Tu Duc to Thuy XuanChoose the particular craft stop you intend to visit

Read the distance and estimated drive time in Maps when planning. Those estimates exclude buying tickets, walking through a monument, waiting at the pickup point and taking breaks. Avoid adding them together and calling that the duration of the tour.

A flexible order for the main sights

Thien Mu Pagoda

Begin with the riverside pagoda if it fits your pickup location. Walk through the grounds and enjoy the view of the Perfume River. This is an active religious site, so keep voices low and follow access signs. A boat ride is a separate option, not a requirement for reaching the pagoda.

Hue Imperial City

Give the Imperial City a substantial part of the day. Moving between halls, temples and courtyards takes longer than a glance at the map suggests. Choose a walking route inside and agree the exit meeting point before separating from your driver.

Lunch and a rest

Leave space for a meal rather than assigning every minute to another attraction. Tell the booking team about dietary needs in advance. On a car-only booking, lunch is paid separately.

Khai Dinh and Tu Duc

Khai Dinh offers a compact hillside complex with prominent stairs and detailed interiors. Tu Duc provides a contrasting landscaped setting. Both involve walking; a private car handles the roads between them rather than taking visitors through the monument interiors.

Thuy Xuan and the return

A short craft or photo stop near Tu Duc can fit at the end when your party still has time and energy. Purchases are optional. Then return to the agreed hotel rather than adding a distant last-minute transfer to the route.

How to substitute a stop without overcrowding the day

If Minh Mang is your priority, ask about substituting it for another tomb instead of automatically adding a third. If your interest is entirely in mausoleums, choose the royal tombs private-car route and leave the Imperial City for another visit.

Markets, garden houses and riverside viewpoints can add variety, but each changes the journey. A countryside village or lagoon is a separate route decision, not a small addition just because it is in the same destination.

For a slower day, combine the Imperial City with one tomb and a relaxed meal. Our one-day itinerary explains these choices without requiring everyone to follow the same clock.

Parking, tickets and practical meeting points

Your driver uses the permitted parking and pickup areas. A map pin does not guarantee that a car can stop directly at a gate. Share a phone number and agree where to meet, especially if the entrance and exit are different.

Parking for the agreed itinerary is included in Hura’s standard private-car city service. Monument tickets are separate. Check the entrance-ticket guide and the official ticket system for your exact combination; do not buy a larger pass simply because more monuments appear on this map.

In wet weather, allow for slippery surfaces and exposed walking between buildings. Adjust or shorten the route when conditions warrant it; a roofed hall does not make the entire attraction an indoor visit.
