Start from your hotel in Hanoi

Meet your driver at your confirmed hotel or central meeting point and leave Hanoi for Ninh Binh. The drive usually takes around 2–2.5 hours, depending on the pick-up address and traffic. An early morning departure leaves more time for the three main visits, but the pick-up time is agreed before the trip rather than fixed for every booking.

You can request a short toilet or refreshment break. If your hotel is on a street the car cannot enter, we will agree on a nearby meeting point.

Walk through Hoa Lu’s historic temple grounds

Your first stop is Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, associated with the Dinh and Early Le dynasties. Visit the temples dedicated to King Dinh Tien Hoang and King Le Dai Hanh. Walk through the gates and courtyards, look at the roof details and stone carvings, and take in the limestone mountains around the historic site.

You explore the surviving temple grounds and memorials connected with the former capital. This is not a complete royal palace preserved as it stood centuries ago. Your driver waits at the agreed parking area while you visit independently.

Climb Hang Mua for the view over Tam Coc

Continue to Hang Mua, also known as Mua Cave. The main experience here is the climb to the mountain viewpoints. Around 500 stone steps lead uphill, with views opening over limestone peaks, fields and the winding waterway below.

Pause along the way for photographs and a rest. The steps are steep in places, making this the most physically demanding part of the day. You can choose how far to climb or stay at the lower grounds and agree on a meeting time with your group and driver. Field colours vary with the season, and visibility depends on the weather.

Take a proper break for lunch

After the climb, stop at a local restaurant before continuing to the boat pier. Choose a Vietnamese meal or ask about local dishes such as Ninh Binh goat meat and crispy rice. Discuss vegetarian preferences, allergies and other dietary needs before ordering.

Lunch is paid separately, so you can choose dishes and portions that suit your group. The restaurant and final meal choice are confirmed on the day.

Explore Trang An by rowing boat

In the afternoon, a local rower takes you through waterways enclosed by limestone mountains. On your selected route, you pass through water caves, emerge into open valleys and may step ashore at temples or other designated stops. Watch how the scenery changes between the enclosed cave passages and open stretches of water.

Allow approximately 2–3 hours for the boat experience, depending on the selected route and operating conditions. The caves and temple stops vary by route; this programme does not promise every attraction within Trang An.

Your car is private to your group. Boat seating follows the attraction’s arrangements, and an exclusive boat is not included in the car price. Your driver waits while you complete the boat trip.

Return to your hotel in Hanoi

Meet your driver at the agreed point after the boat trip and begin the journey back to Hanoi. Drop-off is at your confirmed hotel or central meeting point. The total day usually takes approximately 11–12 hours, depending on traffic, the boat route and the time spent at each attraction. Tell us before booking if you have an evening flight or another fixed appointment.
